News You Can Use
School hours at Duncan Creek
The school hours are from 8:50a.m. - 3:20 p.m. The earliest students may arrive is 8:20. Car riders will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m. Bus call will begin at 3:20 p.m. Expect your child's bus to drop them off a little late during the first week of school.
Absences
If your child is sick, please email me and then send me a written note when your child returns. [email protected]
Absences will be excused for illness when accompanied by a note (with signature and date of absence). Your child will make up his or her work in class or at home depending on the nature of the assignments. Absences for vacation are not excused.
Tardies and early check-outs
Students arriving after 8:50 are tardy. A parent will then have to sign the child in at the front office. If you bring your
child to school after 8:50, you must go with them to the office. Students are considered absent if they check-out (and do not return) before 12:10, or if they check-in after 12:10. Students are not allowed to check out after 3:00. This is strictly enforced.

Transportation changes require a written note. Students must present the note to me first thing in the morning to receive their official bus pass. Please help me by reminding your child to give it to me right away. The notes are due to the office by 9:00 A.M. Only students with official bus passes will be allowed to board a different bus.
Car rider information: Car rider drop off will be from 8:20 - 8:45. Car rider pick-up is from 3:15 - 3:45. No students will be released to anyone walking up to car riders. If you arrive after 3:45 your student will need to be picked up in the front office with a picture ID.
Homework
Homework is important for many reasons:
(1) It teaches responsibility and time management. This is an
invaluable skill that must be taught, modeled, and practiced.
(2) It helps your child practice skills that were introduced at school.
(3) It allows parents to keep up with what is being taught in class.
